Bid Bond Renewal

How long will a Bid Bond stay in effect in case the Bid Date is extended? Would a new Bond be required?

Well Bid bonds normally does not have a set term in writing on the Bond. It can stay effective to a period of 30 days for the original Bid Date. After that you need to have a new Bid Bond.

One Month Max. can be extended as effective period after the Bid date. After that you must obtain a new bid bond from the Surety Company.

You should ask your surety to reissue a bond if the bid date is changed for more than a week. You must follow proper documentation. The possibility of the extended period depends upon the bond form. For example a Federal form has the bid date right on the bond and in case any change happens in the bid date, your Surety firm has to reissues it.
